The Hook Safety Knife

The Moby Safety Knife was invented some 15 years ago. At that time industrial safety knives were not readily available. The only alternative to a plastic safety knife was the Stanley knife. Some years ago it was decided by the Health & Safety Executive that Stanley knives were too dangerous to carry around on one's person. In an industrial environment they have to be signed out, then signed back in again after use. This was due to the fact that so many accidents were occurring.

Following consultation with many of our customers, we decided to make some changes to the existing Moby Knife. The body is now much stronger due in part to a new reinforced outer edge as well as being made of ABS where the old Moby Knife material was Polypropylene. The leading point of the Moby Knife has been made much stronger and can be used to cut through vinyl packing tape with ease. Because of the Moby Knife's safe design, it can be carried on ones person at all times with no risk to the user. The metal cutting blade is inaccessible to fingers rendering the Moby Knife completely harmless.

The need for plastic safety knives is even more pertinent in an age where accidents can prove very expensive for employers. This is one of the reasons why our safety knife is used in so many different walks of industry. Such industries include clothing, supermarkets, food processors, stationers, magazine distributors and department stores.

As an optional extra we also provide a plastic belt clip and chord that the knife can be attached to. This allows the user to have the knife on their person at all times.

The knife can also be used as a promotional item. Company name and logo can be screen printed onto the face of a knife at a minimal cost.
